What is DNS?

The Domain Name System (DNS) acts as a phone book for the internet, allowing humans to access websites online through domain names like Sav.com.

Web browsers deliver information through Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, and DNS translates domain names to IP addresses so that they can load websites. DNS servers allow users to access websites without memorizing lengthy IP addresses.

When you search for www.example.com in your browser, the DNS resolver searches through a massive database for the IP address directed towards your requested domain name.

How to connect free DNS

Login to your Sav account.

Navigate to the Domain’s Settings page, then click on the domain within My Domains or search for the domain in the Domain Search Bar.

Click the Manage DNS button in the page’s DNS & Domain Forwarding section.

Click the Switch button under the Custom header and review the notice.

To add a DNS record, choose the Type, Name, and Value from the table, then click Add. Use “@“ for the Name of the record for the root domain.

To edit a DNS record, click the Pencil Icon next to the record in the table.

To delete a DNS record, click the Trash icon next to the record in the table.
